Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor was fined $17,000 Monday by the NFL for spitting in the face of Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Michael Pittman. Taylor is also scheduled to go on trial next week in Miami on a felony charge of aggravated assault stemming from a June 1 confrontation near his home

Days after declaring he would be in NFL Draft, suspended Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick accused of brandishing firearm He had no choice but to declare for the NFL draft (or play Divison IAA ball) after he was suspended by Va Tech.

Former Panthers linebacker Mark Fields was arrested on drunken driving charges last month.

JAN 8,2006:
Marcus Vick decided to turn pro Saturday, one day after he was kicked off the Virginia Tech team for transgressions on and off the field. On Friday it was discovered that Vick had been stopped for speeding and driving with a suspended license Dec. 17.

JAN 7, 2006:
Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick told The Virginian-Pilot that he would enter the NFL draft on Friday, hours after he was dismissed from the team as a result of numerous legal transgressions and his unsportsmanlike conduct in the Gator Bowl.

DEC 28:
A mental competency hearing scheduled Wednesday for former NFL defensive back Darryll Lamont Lewis was postponed until Feb. 3. Lewis, 37, is charged with two felony counts of evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance. He is also charged with resisting arrest, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a smoking device.

Yahoo! sports NFL reports that the driver was former USC teammate Mike Bastianelli, who played in an exhibition game for the Los Angeles Avengers as an Arena Football player, but he was not an NFL player from what I can tell.
